Pennington's in the Ashe County, NC area

I am in the process of researching my ancestry. I am looking for information pretaining to Arthur Winfield Pennington (1 Jun 1873-19 Jan 1940), I am his great-grand daughter. His son Guy Everett Pennington was my mother's father. His death certificate on Ancestry.com has his mother listed as Meacie Pennington, father unknown. I have found several spellings of Meacie's name; Mecie/Meecie/Nicy/Missie on cenus via Ancestry.com.

Meacie lived with Arthur (and I believe he went by Winfield) and his wife Carrie Jane Howell Pennington. The 1900 cenus for Walnut Hill, Ashe County, NC show (Meacie) spelled Missie in this case, as living with Winfield and his wife Jane. Meacie was approximately 54 yrs old, this woud put her year of birth as about 1846.

If anyone has information regarding either Winfield or Meacie, I would certainly appreciate your sharing with me. I will check this forum periodically for responses.

Artemecia Pennington born 20 Aug 1845 Ashe County, NC - aft 1900 had four sons by an unknown man/men; James Emmitt Pennington, Robert Lee Pennington, Gordon Pennington, and Arthur Winfield Pennington. Mecie was the daughter of James Pennington (1814) and Catherine Sexton (1810). Mecie lived with her parents until after James died sometime between 1880 and 1900. Catherine lived a few years past 1900 in Ashe County, NC. Mecie had the following siblings; Andrew, Thornton, Margaret, Easter, Abraham, James Emmet, and Marshall. Catherine Sexton Pennington was the daughter of Thornton Sexton and Easter Wallace. Mecie was named after her father's sister. James was the son of Abraham Pennington and reportedly Margery Prescott. Abe married after Margery died a Margaret Lewis. Abe's other known children were; Elizabeth Pennington Blevins, Andrew Pennington (my ancestor), Artemecia Pennington Blevins, and Lorenzo Dow Pennington. This family lived in the VA/NC border region around Whitetop Mt. This is Pennington Family Group 30.
